Retired CEO and Current Board Member Virginia Williams Inducted into Credit Union House Hall of Leaders

Recently Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union’s retired CEO and current Board Member Virginia Williams was inducted into The Credit Union House Hall of Leaders.   The Credit Union House Hall of Leaders provides recognition at the Capitol Hill facility for a distinguished group of individuals whose leadership serves as a model for credit union leaders throughout the country.  

Virginia has been an intricate part of the credit union industry for 44 years starting her career as a part time teller in 1971 at Bridgeton Onized Federal Credit Union, where she advanced to CEO and served as Treasurer/Secretary of the Board of Directors.  She served two terms on the Credit Union Advisory Council at the Philadelphia Federal Reserve, 1986-1988 and 2002 to 2004;  Academy of Finance Advisory Board at Ocean City High School in Ocean City, NJ from 2007 to 2012; one year on the Supervisory Committee in 2005-2006 and six years on the Board of Directors at Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union Corporate from 2006 to 2012.  During her tenure she also served on various committees at the New Jersey Credit Union League in Hightstown, NJ.  Virginia facilitated the credit union growth from $18 million in assets to almost $125 million in assets during the 28 years she served as CEO at Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union.  In addition, she increased the credit union’s footprint in Atlantic and Cape May Counties with five offices and added many new products and services.

Following her retirement, in 2015 Ms. Williams was elected as a Board Member for the Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. In 2018, she was re-elected to serve another three-year term.  She is also the Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee Chairman.
