Coronavirus Updates

Coronavirus Updates
Our primary concern is the safety and health of our employees, members, and the communities we serve. We have taken steps to limit the potential spread of COVID-19.
We want to start by saying from our Jersey Shore family to yours, we hope you are all safe and healthy. The COVID-19 pandemic has put a sudden halt on the daily lives of everyone in our community and around the world. The most important thing at this time is to understand that we are better together. Together we can accomplish anything and that includes taking the necessary steps to help flatten the curve of this virus. We are Jersey Strong and can emerge even stronger once this pandemic is over.

We have been asked to change our daily routines to not only protect ourselves, but to protect everyone around us. The credit union is currently taking every measure to ensure we are aiding in the slowing of this virus. This includes closing most lobbies and leaving the drive ups open and staff working remotely.  Our employees have shown incredible flexibility and dedication to Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union, even with school closings, household layoffs, and all the other hardships and changes this pandemic has caused for everyone.

We want to thank you, our members, for choosing us to be your financial institution and for embracing the changes we have made to continue our efforts to meet your financial needs in these challenging times. We are so proud to serve you, and all the incredible members of our community, including the heroes working in health care battling COVID-19.

CO-OP Shared Branch Locations

The only Shared Branch location open for Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union is our Rio Grande branch.  All lobbies are closed at our other locations and Shared Branch transactions cannot be completed in drive ups.

Members of Jersey Shore FCU, if you are planning to visit a Shared Branch, please call them first.  Many Shared Branch locations are closed at this time and information may not be updated on the Shared Branch location finder.

We're taking numerous steps to protect you, our staff, and our locations from the spread of infection during this concerning time. This includes:

  • Daily cleaning and sanitizing of workspace and public areas.
  • Employees refraining from coming into the office if showing any symptoms of illness and fever.
  • Disposable gloves distributed to staff.
  • Limited physical contact – please don’t be offended if we don’t greet you with our typical friendly handshake.

Pandemic Team

Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union has a Pandemic Team in place to be prepared for emergency situations and to prevent or minimize any interruption of service to our members. Our Team will be monitoring the coronavirus closely and is prepared to implement different phases of protection for our staff and members as needed.

Beware of Coronavirus Scams

Scammers are notorious for capitalizing on fear, and the coronavirus outbreak is no exception. Scammers have set up fake websites, bogus funding collections, and more in an effort to trick the fearful and unsuspecting out of their money.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published on its website a warning against email scams connected to the coronavirus. The agency claims it has received reports from around the world about phishing attempts mentioning coronavirus on an almost daily basis.

Closer to home, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is warning against a surge in coronavirus scams, which are being executed with surprising sophistication, so they may be difficult for even the keenest of eyes to spot. The best weapons against these scams are awareness and education. When people know about circulating scams and how to identify them, they’re already several steps ahead of the scammers.

Thank you for your trust in Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union. Please know we are thinking of you and your families and will support you through these challenging times.
